Banking services, ATMs, and currency exchange are available at the Antalya International Airport in the arrivals and departures floors of Terminals 1 and 2, as well as the arrivals hall of the Domestic Terminal.  Banks are open from 08.30 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday, with a break between 12.00 to 13.30. They are closed on the weekends and on public holidays.

Antalya is a popular congress and meeting destination because of its hot, Meditteranean climate.  The summers are hot and dry, while the winters are rainy and mild.  Antalya averages 300 days of sunshine per year.  In late April, and early May, the average temperature is 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Farenheit), and the temperature of the sea averages 17 degrees Celsius (63 Farenheit).

The official currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TL).  ATM’s are widely available in Antalya, and you should have no problem if you land in the city with nothing but a credit card.  VISA and Master Card credit cards are accepted by almost every merchant, shops, or cafe and restaurant. Almost all banks’ provide the option of making withdrawals in multiple types of currencies such as US Dollar, Euro or Turkish Lira.

Antalya is an internationally popular congress and meeting destination, so you can exchange money with little difficulty.  You can change currency and get cash in Turkish Lira at the airport, through banks or exchange bureaus, or you can directly withdraw Liras from any ATM. Exchange offices (doviz) are quite frequent and easy to spot, especially in international areas. It is possible to change a variety of currencies is, and bureaus do not charge commission.  However, the exchange rates may  differ slightly from one another.

International Driving Licenses are recognized throughout Turkey. Car rental companies ask for a valid driving license.

In Turkey, electricity is supplied at 220 Volt / 50Hz AC. Most hotels have a receptacle with 110 volts. Two-pin round plugs are used.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. At the time you register for the Meeting and book your travel, you may wish to take an insurance policy of your choice. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.

The wireless internet access for notebook users is available at the official hotel.

Smoking is not permitted inside of restaurants, public service vehicles, museums, libraries, lifts, theatres, cinemas, supermarkets, department stores, and government offices. Offenders can be fined up to 100 Turkish Liras. In line with efforts to improve the nightlife experience for all, there are smoking restrictions on entertainment outlets.
